Urenui Housing Development

As a proud Design and Build partner, Location Homes worked alongside Ngāti Mutunga to deliver this five-home papakāinga housing development across two sites in Urenui, Taranaki. The project forms part of Ngāti Mutunga's long-term vision to create quality, affordable housing that enables whānau to return home, reconnect with their community and build a strong future within their rohe. Guided by the values of whanaungatanga, manaakitanga and kaitiakitanga, the development provides warm, healthy homes that support both people and place for generations to come.

Working closely with Ngāti Mutunga from concept through to completion, our team managed both the design and construction of the development, ensuring every home balanced practicality, durability and contemporary living. Every decision was made with longevity in mind, creating low-maintenance homes that are comfortable, energy-efficient while complementing the surrounding township of Urenui.

The development spans two locations within the township. At Ngapapa Street, we delivered three homes, including two three-bedroom duplex homes and one standalone two-bedroom home. At Whakapaki Street, we constructed two modern three-bedroom townhouses, with exterior colours and materials carefully selected to reflect the natural character and landscape of the area.

For Location Homes, this project represents more than building houses.
